How the estimate is calculated.

When Is My Visa currently calculates projected dates from stored official baselines only. The community forum is visible alongside the calculator, but forum posts do not feed the estimator.

1. Start with the official baseline

Each visa page stores a published GOV.UK or USCIS timing baseline and keeps that source visible next to the calculator.

2. Use the visa-specific key date

UK Skilled Worker projections anchor on biometrics dates. US H-1B projections anchor on the USCIS receipt date. The calculator adds the stored official baseline to that date.

3. Keep the forum separate

Community notes are useful context, but they do not currently change the projected dates. That keeps the estimator explicit about what data is and is not being used.

4. Update the official baselines over time

The current baselines are stored manually from official sources. The next step is wiring repeatable imports so those figures can be refreshed automatically without changing the product model.
